Some garage door makers limit how dark a steel door can be painted, because dark colors get hot in the sun. We check their approved list first.
Step 2: Wash and prep
Doors are washed to remove chalk and prepped so paint bonds.
Step 3: Protect the drive and trim
Drop cloths go down on the drive and the trim is taped where it meets the door.
Step 4: Paint with exterior enamel
Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Latitude go on, working each panel so there are no lap marks.
