What goes into a drywall repair

What's included

  • Holes, dents and impact damage
  • Cracks, seams and nail pops
  • Water-damaged drywall
  • Texture matching and paint

What usually goes wrong

  • Holes, cracks and failed seams that still show through new paint.

Your room is protected before work starts, and a repair doesn't get painted until it's smooth enough that we'd paint over it.

  • A rushed patch with raised edges or a texture that doesn't match.

  • Two contractors to hire, one to repair and one to paint.

You hire one company: our own W-2 painters do the repair and the paint. No subcontractors.

Drywall repair questions, answered

What kinds of drywall damage do you repair?

Holes, dents, cracks, nail pops, failed seams and areas with minor water damage. At the estimate visit we look at it and decide how to repair it before we start.

Will I still see the repair after it's painted?

We aim to blend it into the wall around it. That means smoothing the patch, feathering the edges, matching the texture where we can, priming it and painting it. Sometimes painting the whole wall gives a more even result than touching up one spot, and we'll tell you if that's the case.

Can you match my wall texture?

Often, yes. It depends on the type, age and consistency of the texture. We look at it at the estimate visit and tell you what result to expect before we start.

Can you fix water-damaged drywall?

Yes, once the leak has been found and fixed. Drywall shouldn't be closed up, finished or painted while there's still moisture behind it.

Do you protect the room for a drywall repair?

Yes. Your floors and furniture get covered first, the same as for any room we paint. When the repair is done, the covers come off and your room goes back the way you had it.

How soon can you start?

We set your start date with you once you've signed the written price. If you sign at your home, Ohio law gives you three business days to change your mind, and we schedule your start after that. When we call to set up your estimate visit, ask where our schedule stands.
